This African landscape is rich with texture. The red sandy clay earth, the wispy grasses, the scrubby trees and strong dark mountains, the fluffy white clouds in the blue, blue sky. Exquisite display of Mother Nature’s effortless and superfluous displays of natural beauty … What makes it so is the juxtaposition of these elements – and the texture it creates. People too, are this lovely, when they can retain their uniqueness and live symbiotically with others who likewise retain their uniqueness.
How exquisite the way it’s whimsical petals radiate outward!
there is a calling
that seems insatiable
to direct my gaze
infuse my sense of being
with home forever lost

I always knew I had to have some genetic link to African mountains. Lesotho is a kingdom entirely landlocked by South Africa. It is a mountainous kingdom, with nicknames like, Kingdom of the Sky or Sky Kingdom.
Hilly landscape of the Butha-Buthe region of Lesotho. Lesotho, officially the Kingdom of Lesotho, is a landlocked country and enclave.
It is stunning.
It was not final
when the last Ancestor left
the Lesotho skies
children will always look back
their seed would remember home
There is a pink lake in Senegal called Lake Retba. It is literally pink.
The lake is separated from the Atlantic Ocean only by a narrow corridor of dunes, and is named for its pink waters, caused by Dunaliella salina algae. The algae produces a red pigment to assist in absorbing light, which provides energy to create ATP.–Wikipedia
